JAY OBERAI
Chairman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer Synergy Asset Management
Jay Oberai is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Synergy Asset Management, Geneva.
He founded Synergy Asset Management in 1999 which today manages over $2.6 billion, making it one of the top 1% of multi-family offices in Switzerland.
Previously, Jay was Head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Investment Advisory at Citi Private Bank for over ten years where he led the strategic growth of the bank in these areas.
Prior to Citi Bank, Jay was the Former Global Head of Portfolio Advisory at Coutts Private Bank (Royal Bank of Scotland). Jay has managed the wealth of some of the largest families in the world.
Jay serves as a chairman and president of the board at the Geneva WealthTech Hub.
He is leading the technological change, together with Swiss Government, within the banking and wealth management industry. He is chairman of the Geneva WealthTech Forum and he is president of The Counsel of Geneva Wealth Managers which aims to identify the needs of the Geneva based managers in terms of technology, global source the best-in-business service providers and attract and help best global startups in WealthTech.
Jay currently sits on the board of a few Venture Capital firms and incubators in Silicon Valley, where he acts as a mentor and angel investor.
Jay earned a master’s degree in Economic sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK. He also holds a Real Estate degree from Harvard University.
